Frizzy Lizzy (Lizzy)

As a kid, I was so uncomfortable with my body. In elementary school, a boy teased me and called me “Frizzy Lizzy” because of my hair, so I put my hair in a ponytail almost every day. Like you, I was the first in my class to grow in height and for my chest to grow. At that young age, I was as tall as I am now. In high school, I was plagued with migraines and sinus infections, my body like a trap. But I learned to control my breathing and had my adenoids removed, and was able to feel like myself again. While I know my body is not perfect, I realize now that there is no such thing as perfect. Everyone is created in a beautiful and unique way, and although some days my hair is a mess or I don’t quite like how my butt looks in my jeans, I realize that my body allows me to be. My hands allow me to make my artwork, to hug and to swing, and my face allows me to smile and laugh and sing. I am thankful for my body and to be in good health.
